Each Hometown Days features 3 stages of live performance & music. The Cedar Stage is the permanent city stage located in Burton Park adjacent to the children’s playgrounds at the north end of Burton Park. The Grass Stage is set up just for Hometown Days and is located in the open spaces of the grassy sports fields at the south end of the park near the San Carlos Youth Center. The Artist Stage, presented by Four Ohm Presents, featuring up and coming local bands from around the Bay Area, will be setup by the Beer Garden.

5:00pm to 7:30pm: SCEF Celebrates Music
The San Carlos Education Foundation host musicians from our local elementary and middle schools sharing free concert. Local food trucks will be on hand so bring an appetite! You can also bring a picnic. Come sit out on chairs, blankets and enjoy the talents of your kids!

12:45pm to 2:15pm: Blues Bottle Band
Playing R&B, Classic Rock and Blues! It’s their third time at Hometown Days so check them out!
3:15pm to 4:45pm: Groovy Judy
Hendrix inspired funk-rock with a positive groove! One of the “top” female guitarists and entertainers in the The Bay Area. Influenced by great artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Sly and The Family Stone, her style and energy equals some of today’s most-known artists. Her stellar guitar playing, inspirational lyrics, colorful dress, and upbeat personality help people smile and feel good about themselves. She performs all over The Bay Area and beyond. With her band or as a solo artist, she always puts on an upbeat, positive show that gets people up and dancing. 5:00pm to 8:00pm: Kiwanis Dine, Wine and Music Dinner with music by the Tribal Blues Band. The dinner ends at 8pm but hang out and dance with the band until 9pm.

Performing an eclectic set of high energy Rock N Roll tunes from Rush to Jimmy Eat World and everything in between. This San Carlos-based band started playing together in 3rd grade and have been rocking the San Francisco Bay Area ever since.

Hometown Days welcomes back this local 4-piece party band playing Classic Rock with a Twist ! Get ready to dance!

2:00pm to 3:30pm: Jim Stevens and Friends
Local resident and long-time friend of Hometown Days, Jim Stevens has been delighting his following with classic folk & Americana music since the early 1970’s. Covers include the Kingston Trio & Woody Guthrie along with his original work. We always request he play the Kingston Trio’s “Scotch & Soda” and love hearing him play on a Sunday afternoon!
4:15pm to 4:45pm: Andy Z
Another member of the Hometown Days Family, Andy Z is an award-winning singer/songwriter and children’s performer. He combines music & movement in song, and storytelling with character voices in the imaginary world of Andyland to create an experience that keeps kids engaged and adults entertained. He has recorded several albums & has appeared on NBC’s Today Show. Thanks to the San Carlos/Belmont Mother’s Club for sponsoring Andy!

9:00am to 10:00am: Sequoia High School Jazz Band
Led by director Jane Woodman, the Sequoia High School Jazz Band features talented local students who perform regularly at community & school events. Hometown Days is proud to showcase this years’ Jazz ensemble and looks forward to a fantastic performance!
10:45am to 12:15pm: Drummm Rhythmic Events
Two 30 minute drum circles. Percussion instruments will be provided. This is their third Hometown Days and we are thankful to the Sequoia Health Care District for sponsoring this event.
1:15pm to 1:45pm: Broadway’s Rising Stars (formerly Showstoppers)
San Carlos Children’s Theater’s Broadway’s Rising Stars performance troupe featuring singers and dancers ages 5-11 perform favorite numbers from Annie and Willie Wonka. San Carlos Children’s Theater has been serving San Carlos and the surrounding communities since 1990. Hometown Days is proud to include some of San Carlos’s youngest talent.
2:30pm to 5:00pm: 10th Annual Hometown Days High School Battle of the Bands
The Hometown Days High School Battle of the Bands is a highlight of Hometown Days. Sponsored by Clocktower Music in downtown San Carlos, this competition features talented bands from San Carlos & surrounding communities. You’ll be amazed at the talent and varied influences you’ll hear. Judges will consider style, technique, and other criterion. A great time and a great celebration of young musicians. The three bands for the 2018 battle are Grandma’s Cat, Unpopular Opinion, San Mateo School of Rock.
